Visit the support area of the website of the manufacture of your MP3 player, because you probably do NOT want to format it. Instead, you probably should be just deleting your songs/videos/pictures.

I just bought a Sandisk 8 Gig Rhapsody about a week ago and I love it, but I’m still learning about it. I have already gone in with my Windows Explorer and found a lot of stuff that I probably should not delete.

One thing you can do is check the tools/settings on your MP3 player to see if there is anything about formatting. If there is that might be for formatting the data area of your MP3 player (just a thought).
