Mobile types are all built with shockproof
but alas they can take only so much shock
Those meant for vehicles are quite robust nowadays
A great improvement I would say

Some CD players simply have anti-shock protection and it does work. My friend dropped hers in the pool and it just kept on vibrating which means its keeping it from harming someone. So you can buy those kinds of CD players.

yes some with ESP actually oversample music so it knows what it is going to play 30 sec in advance by reading farther than its playing . so when it receves a jolt it has time to fix the skiped data
when the lazer is thrown out of wack
but with a tredmill you jolt it so many times in that 30 sec it can catch up to the ESP

As already mentioned many ESP systems use a ‘look ahead’ function. So the data is held in a temporary memory location (called a buffer) just in case the laser can’t read the disc.
In theory this is great, but it only works for short periods. If you are running, chances are that you aren’t giving the laser time to read mor edata and for the buffer to store it before you give the cd player another shock !
My advice is to get yourself a small flash memory mp3 player like the Ipod Shuffle. They are quite cheap, can hold moe music then a normal audio cd…and because they are solid state (ie no moving parts) they are 99% immune to physical knocks and bumps.
